Precision and Accuracy. Immediately my mind shifts into a oft-taught analogy of a dartboard. Several darts clustered in a non-centered region of the board depicts the textbook- this is high precision, and low accuracy. Another shows several darts loosely scattered near the center, but not nearly as dead-on as the first image. This is low precision, and high accuracy. I found out that in order to be more successful, one has to have both high precision and high accuracy. There is little room for error. Attached is an assignment I did where I checked off everything that was checked by me, literally (Figure 6)

I believe I learned the merits of accuracy and precision more this quarter than in any other quarter. I found myself turning in a sloppy lab report, only to be greeted by a mediocre grade. I knew that I wasn't bothered to do an accurate nor precise job, yet I also knew I had it in me, to improve this. Eventually, I got into the habit of gradually checking over work, making sure everything was relevant, accurate, and precise. Overall, improving this habit of mind has given me a more beneficial process of learning, so I am grateful I took the time to improve my accuracy and precision.
