Precision and Accuracy I covered in the first semester, because I spent time inproving my overall accuracy and precision in my work. However, thinking and communicating with clarity and precision, is a wholly different thing. What I discovered is that even if you work with extreme accuracy and precision, if you don't communicate properly, the data is virtually useless. This merit displayed itself during a test that we just took- on acids and bases.
Figure 9
After checking every single answer multiple times, I thought I was as close as to being done as I ever would be. However, one glance back at the procedure question, where we had to organize the chronological order of a titration experiment, revealed my uncertainty in the question. No matter how precise and accurate I could answer this question to my abilities, I would not get it right unless I further clarified my lack of understanding. I therefore asked clarification on this question, indicating my lack of understanding of what was being tested on. After I was told the details of the steps, the answer became more apparent than if I had sat idly by without saying anything. I referred back to my packet multiple times, to make sure that I was precise in following the steps (Figure 9) This goes to show the importance of communicating clarity and precision in words.
